Choose what connects the pair
A favourite trip, the place they met or a familiar morning routine can inspire the design. One photo used on both mugs gives a strong visual connection. Two different images from the same occasion can work if their colours and framing sit comfortably together.
If you prefer words, use a phrase that belongs to the couple rather than assuming standard labels fit them. Names are often enough. Avoid assigning roles or personality traits unless you know both people will enjoy them, and check how each person wants to be referred to.
Make each mug work on its own
A split image or sentence can look clever when two mugs sit together, but may feel incomplete when one is at work and the other is at home. Decide whether that is part of the appeal or an inconvenience. A repeated visual motif can connect the pair without making either depend on the other.
For an anniversary, a date or year can be meaningful without dominating the design. Check whether the date marks a first meeting, wedding or another shared milestone. A then-and-now idea needs enough image space for both photos to remain clear, especially if either original is small.
Send a separate brief for each version
Label the wording and image for mug one and mug two. This avoids uncertainty about which name belongs with which caption. Send original photographs and the exact text rather than expecting details to be copied from a rough visual sketch.
Review both artwork versions before approval. Check that the names have not been swapped and that each photo crop is flattering and intentional. If you are ordering a surprise, use pictures and messages the recipients would be comfortable displaying in their everyday surroundings.
Plan the gift timing
Wotta Mug currently offers 11 oz ceramic mugs with orders from one mug, so you can enquire about a pair or a single gift. Production is 7–10 business days after artwork approval, with Australia-wide delivery taking additional transit time. Include the delivery postcode and the date you need the gift in hand. If presentation or separate packing matters, ask about it in the quote so the final arrangement is clear before you order.
