Count the whole process
The production window does not begin when you first send an enquiry. Time is also needed to confirm the quote, supply suitable files and approve the artwork. Delivery then follows production. Weekends and public holidays should not be treated as normal business days when you work through the schedule.
Use the date you actually need the gift in hand. If you will wrap it, take it interstate or post it on to someone else, that date is earlier than the birthday or celebration. Include the postcode so delivery feasibility can be discussed against the real destination.
Send a complete first enquiry
Provide the quantity, exact wording, original photo or artwork, delivery postcode and required arrival date together. State that the date is essential if it is. This gives the enquiry a useful starting point and avoids spending time designing something before the timing has been checked.
Do not assume a rush service, same-day printing or collection is available. Any arrangement outside the standard process needs direct confirmation. A simple design can make decisions easier, but it does not remove the production or transit time and should not be treated as a shortcut to a guaranteed delivery.
Keep decisions simple without sacrificing accuracy
One sharp photo and a short message can be easier to approve than a complex collage. Send the original image rather than trying to fix a compressed copy yourself. If the file is unsuitable, choosing a different photo may be more effective than repeatedly enlarging the same small image.
Even under time pressure, check spelling, dates and the final crop carefully. Nominate one approver for a group gift. A rushed approval can leave an error on the finished item; taking a moment to read the proof is still part of a sensible order.
Have an honest alternative ready
If the schedule cannot be confirmed, choose a different gift for the day or give a personal note explaining a later gift without promising an unagreed arrival.
